Upcoming Simple DIY Project

First of all, dropped my car off at Acura this morning, again great service!

And my service advisor who totally rocks, gave me an old 2002-2004 RL remote that doesn't work anymore. Got a ride back in a brand new MDX (awesome car by the way) and got started on this little DIY.

Here is how the old remote looks (as I'm sure you know).

This is what the replacement will look like! And it will work with our vehicle the way I'm doing it. It's pretty easy.

It's an interesting idea. All the buttons are in the same spots so I'm guessing its just swapping boards? In my personal opinion I don't really care for the color scheme of the newer style remote it kinda looks cheap to me. (I don't mean it in a rude way if it came off that way)

I understand, but when you have it in your hand next to the old one, the new one is the hands down winner, I think. The glossed over chrome Acura logo on the black background on the back, looks way nice! Ask your dealer if you can hold one and compare the two yourself!

And it's not quite as simple as switching the boards, a lot of precision sanding/dremel tooling was required. Took about 2 hours.

The A on the back does look pretty sweet. I'd ask my Acura dealer but I don't have one haha. There is no Acura dealers in Maine I'd have to drive all the way to New Hampshire.

And I only assumed it was so simple since you put simple in the title lol.

Haha, yeah I titled the post before I actually started the project. That was kinda stupid of me. Unless you are kinda OCD and really want to do this project, I'd say it's not worth it. I'll post the DIY for anyone that asks though.
