Trunk Lid doesn't open thru driver side button

Gurus,

I hit upon one more issue with my 98 RL. The trunk is not opening when i press the switch located on driver's side door. I have to open thru my keys everytime.

Pl let me know what should i do to fix it. Is this can be fixed by own or should i have to take it to the dealer? i don't want to get ripped off........

pla suggest

thanks

In my tl there is a switch in the glove box on the left side. its for valet parking purposes, if you hit that switch, close the glove box and give them the valet key then they won't be able to open the trunk. try it...

right...i agree your point. but my problem is not with the valvet parking switch...it is more of inside problem rather than outside.

I mean there are 2 options to open the trunk . One from the key remote and other from the driver's seat door...... my problem here is i am not able to open my trunk thru the switch inside the car near driver's seat.......

Did you really get prs2008RL said? There's a on/off switch in the passenger side's glove box. You will find it if you open it. It is a black tiny switch located on the left side of the glove box. If the swith is turned off, you can't open the trunk by pressing the trunk lid open button on the driver side door nor by remote.

hi 97_RLer.....

The switch inside the glove box is "Turned OFF". But i CAN able to open the trunk thru the remote key.

I am NOT able to open it by pressing the trunk lid button on the drivers side door.

If this is the case, which can possibly have gone wrong.. Is it FUSE as Ikko pointed out??

That's the problem. Turn the switch to "ON". Mine is at on and my trunk opens fine from the door side switch.

You must turn the switch to "ON" to activate the door side switch as Big Green Acura said.

Holy thread revival batman.

I have my switch in the On position and the trunk wont open. I have flipped the switch off and on and back again and still wont open.

This was working three days ago and will work with the remote.

Any ideas?

Mike

Figured it out. I had changed the cabin air filter and unplugged the glove box switch. Fixed that back up and works again.
