Transmission Problem???

I have a '96 with 92k miles and have noticed a slight "clunk" and hesitation when shifting from first to second in normal traffic. The other shifts are smooth. I have had the car for 3 years and just noticed this lately. Is this unusual? Any ideas of a cause?

Not unusual. It happens with the Legends and 1st gen 3.2 TLs as well. You MAY wish to get the transmission mount checked. Generally, if you can feel the motor moving when you shift from reverse to neutral to drive, it just needs a new mount.
