I just bought a 2003 RL and the only thing i have found wrong with the car is after about ten minutes and a few changes of the the volume or station, the buttons don't work correctly.

Up will intermittently change station
Down will turn the volume up
and Station will be inactive

 

I have an 03 MDX that has the same problem. The problem on that is a grounding cable that needs to be moved in the steering wheel. Not sure if that is the problem with the RL but might be a place to start.

I've noticed this intermittently on the RL as well but not as bad as the MDX.

give the volume knob a firm pound. not enoughto break it though, but firm. it should work well for a llittle while after that.

 

I have to hit my knob every couple of months to get my steering wheel controls to work.
