Replacing Alternator, Im Stuck, HELP
I am in the process of trying to swap out my Alternator and i have taken everything apart but the Alternator is still being held in by the Alternator bracket. There is 1 bolt that I cannot get out that is holding the bracket. The bolt is in at an odd angle and I tried to use a swivel socket but it still does not give me the room i need. Has anyone else ran into this problem while trying to remove the Alternator or know of a possible solution to this problem? please help. Thanks in advance.

From a manual I found somewhere:
Alternator Replacement
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio,
then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset
buttons.
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then
the positive terminal.
NOTE: The PCM memory must be reset after reconnecting
the battery (see page 11-125).
3. Remove the battery and battery base (see page 4-6).
4. Remove the mounting bolt, lock bolt and adjusting
rod, then remove the alternator belt.

I just replaced the alternator in my '00 RL. I was stuck for a bit until I figured out that rotating the alternator in place aligns things so the alternator slides right out. I did NOT remove the bracket. Two front bolts, two electric connections and one harness connection. Biggest problem was dropping harness nut into the netherworld of deep plastic shrouding. I don't recall whether I rotated CW or CCW, but it was about 45 degrees of turn. As I think about it, I believe I rotated CW so the upper boss would clear the bracket.
