Today morning while driving to work CEL came on and it threw a code of P1486 (Cooling System Malfunction). Any ideas as to what could have caused it.

I monitored the temps for about 10 miles (via scanguage) and they seemed to be no different than what I get every day, so I have cleared the code for now.

Have you checked the service manual?

Maybe simply bleeding your system maybe? Hows the coolant look, and how old is it?

 

Its was raining heavily yesterday so I didn't get a chance to look under the hood and see if there was any issue with the coolant. Anyway it was changed 14 months back when the WP/TB were replaced, so unless there is a leak somewhere it shouldn't be the issue. I was thinking it may have been an issue with the Thermostat, but since resetting the code I have done over 50miles and 2 of which were cold start with engine @ 50F and the code hasn't come on yet.
