Hey. Got the ext. shaft free from the trans but it still won't come out. It goes a few inches and then stops like its hitting something. Did you have to take out the diff to remove the extension shaft?

Oh shit...

Tried to remove the extension shaft after putting it in due to it not seating all the way in. Ended up breaking the tool's threads in the extension shaft...

So I was mistaken when I said I had removed the extension shaft, turns out I was referring to the intermediate shaft lol
I do believe you have to remove the diff to remove the extension shaft but I might be wrong. I have finally received the shaft remover after waiting a long time for them to come back in stock at Acura parts warehouse.
I tried using the bolt and washer trick but I didn't work for me so I just decided to get the tool. Plus IDK how long ago it was removed last but the grease on there looks ancient and I might need the remover tool to actually get it loose.
Had a baby recently so that put a pause on the car just when work slowed down and I thought I'd be getting back to working on it lol
Maybe this weekend I'll be able to give it a shot

Update, car still not finished, been working out of town quite a lot and haven't had time to work on it. I was going to rebuild the rack and pinion but turns out it's a reman and the bolt on the rack just rounded over after my attempts to loosen it, so I'm looking to just buy a replacement.
Napa has remans for $525 plus $150 core charge and new ones for $1400, I don't know who make their new ones. I also found that Acura sells remans for about $620 with $150 core charge.
Question is, has anyone bought the remans from Acura? I assume their quality would be better than napa? Napa also has 20% off every month on the second Saturday so that would bring it down to $420.

I used a BBB industries new rack with no issues. However, I’d try to find a 3.2TL rack and reman it if possible. They supposedly offer better road feel.
