Need new struts on 2002 RL?
Took my car in today for regular maintenance. It rode like a dream on the way there. When I picked it up they told me I needed $1200 of strut work done on it and I bounced the whole way home like I was in a clown car. What would cause the struts to all of a sudden go out??? This has been a dream car up until the time I dropped it at the mechanic.

Safety Car
Wrong forum. This is for 2G RL's (2005+). You may have better luck on the 1G RL forum. But do look in Acura ServiceNews. This is not your specific problem, but they did talk about what to do when you raise the car on a lift and the struts lock up when they have no load on them...not your (the dealer) problem, but it is age related, and is the customer's responsibility. The article or other ServiceNews articles may give you a clue.

The Box
Pretty uncommon for your struts to go out after 69K miles.
I'm on the original struts in my RL with close to 140K and original struts in my TL with close to 253K..
Maybe it's just in your head after they said something? Started paying closer attention to it?
