Master Password For 1999 RL Navigation

My battery died. My old password no longer works once a new battery was installed. Is there a master password that I can use to reset the nav system?

I moved this to the 1st generation RL forum. Hopefully we can be of help here.

Are you referring to the anti-theft code?

It should be a 4 digit code (its NOT your PIN number) that came with your car.

I have the code that came with the car, but nothing happens when I enter that. Nothing happens when I enter my password either. I was hoping that a dealer override code or a manufacturers code existed that would allow me to get the system activated again.

What exactly does the screen say?

I can try to help you troubleshoot this.

Thanks for the help. OK...here is exactly what happens. When I start the car and the Nav screen comes on, it asks me for a code. I enter the 4 digit Nav code that is on the little credit card thing in my glove box. I get a message that says "Incorrect PIN". I'm not sure what else to enter. This is the same number I entered when I first bought the car.

Thats bizarre... You're doing that correctly. Are you the original owner of the vehicle? Perhaps the previous owner had the system replaced? If thats the case, there would be a new PIN.

I'm not the original owner. I'll check with the dealer where I bought the car to see if the nav system was ever replaced under warranty. You'd think they would have gotten rid of the old code card and replaced it with the new one, but who knows. Thanks for your help.

Check the bottom SN# on the unit in the trunk. Write it down and call an Acura dealership with that # and ask them for your unlock code. I just had the same thing happen. THe SN# will be on a little green sticker on the bottom of the trunk unit.
