Intermittent headlight issue

Long time listener, first time caller.........

I am having an issue with my driver's side headlight, it seems to shut off intermittently, particularly when I come to a stop at a traffic light, stop sign etc. Anyone know what could be causing this? When its on it operates fine, it doesn't flicker or dim, nothing appears to be loose, it just seems to shut off randomly and is really annoying, I have to turn them off and then back on to get it to light up again. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have a 1999 RL, D2R HID's.

Thank you!

It's a problem with the ballast. Usually when you hit a bump kinda hard or jostle them it'll happen if the ballast isn't secure. With factory stuff, I'd probably blame age before anything else, though.
