How do I install aftermarket Stereo with 6-cd changer in the way??

The reason why is because I've been having problems with front console cd changer buttons..sometimes they wont play (I have checked the wiring and everythings fine)
I want to install an aftermarket double decker touchscreen stereo
How would I do this? Will it be a problem with cd changer?
any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi guys,

I'm having the same problem here (2000 RL w/o Nav). I just bought a 2-din headunit (with Nav, DVD yadda yadda) and I'm wondering how much it will run me to get it installed. Does anyone have any idea how much it will run me? I'm guessing it is a complex install guessing they have to bypass the amp (?), making a custom faceplate, parking brake wire, etc. Also is there anything else I'm missing that would add to the cost of my installation?

Thanks for your time,

The radio will probably bolt into the stock brackets much like the OEM. Your only problem will be a trim ring to fill up the empty space.

I dont think you would need to replace the amp or bypass it. I believe the stock radio sends a 4 ohm speaker level to the amplifier. I could be wrong though. If i am then it will be extra work and money.

If the parking brake is just a wire to ground then you'll be fine. If its an Alpine you'll need a bypass module like the PAC TR7 to be able to view video without having the car in park or doing the pedal dance.

This is great news, thank you! Seems like the only difficult part will be fabricating a place to fill in the gaps, shouldn't be too bad!
