Hood Support Strut

I did a quick search on the forum but could not find anything. Has anyone replaced the hood support strut before - this is on a 1998 RL. I have OEM replacement from Acura but the do not include the ball stud like the parts book drawings indicate they should come with. How do you easily seperate the ball stud and replace the strut? Any ideas?

I replaced it on my 96. I didn't bought it from Acura and it was included everything. All I have to do was to swap out the old one and put the new one in. I don't know how easily to remove the ball stub from the oem. Give me the part number so I know which one you got.

Actually on these there is no pin that I can see. I know some of the other models/years have a pin but this doesnt. And having bought a OEM part I figured I would not have any issues and would be an easy swap.
This is the part with the two ends.

I just answered my own question. The ball stud comes inside the package and needs to be replaced. If you dont look careful you dont realize its included.
