Eating up rear pads?

Yesterday I hit the brakes while turing out of my garage and SCRREEECH!!! i first thought it was the front brakes, so I check them out, just like new. So I take a look at the rears and they are down to metal!! The thing is I just replaced the pads less than 15,000 miles ago. By memory they should last twice as long...right?? My braking is relatively intermediate: Not hard, but not exactly soft either.

I was wondering if this is normal wear time and how long your guys' rear pads usually last.

Thanks

waterpolo, next time you have to get an oilchange, take it to stealership, pay $30 for oil change and ask them to check your brakes while they have it up. my stealership inspected my brakes for free while i was gettin my oil change there. they told me that i need to do my brakelines and everything else is fine. I think they measure the pads.

I actually use to be pretty good about measuring and writing down the pad wear every time that I changed my oil. And about taking it to the stealership... I just don't do it.. I've been to the back of the Acura dealerships were they do service, and they treat the cars like shit. I think I will have my mechanic take a look at if the pads go down again that fast...

Thanks

Acura OEM pads... Not sure how they handle warranty and such... Oh well, I'll see how this set turns out.
