Defective Rims

I have a 97 RL with the chromed 19 spoke factory rims. The problem I have is that the rim is leaking air, not the tire or the bead. The rim is defective and when you put the tire into a tank you can see the air bubbles coming out through the metal. Has anyone else had this problem?

Mine do this as well,, your options are to get new rims or have your recromed.. I put fix a flat in mine about every 3 months.

Unhappy

That kind of sucks considering they were a $4,000 up charge on the car. About two years ago I got Acura to repace one of the rims but they won't even think about replacing this one. I have used fix-a-flat in the tires before but it doesn't seem to help much and Discount Tires hates when you bring a tire into them with it in them.

Maybe a solution?

I hit a pothole once and bent the crap out of my rims. A guy in my hometown (Macon, GA) has a business that repairs bent rims. He does major high-end rims for Acura, Mercedes, BMW, etc. and charges about $ 100.00 per rim to repair. He has a great business going and maybe there is one near where you live. If you want to shoot me an e-mail, I'll give you the guy's information and you can call him for a referral in your area.

damn, you bent a 16" wheel, I would hate to see what you would do to a 19" wheel, lol.
