D2R HID - Why So Cheap

I am looking for backup bulbs for my 99RL. I know the dealer prices are very high and other known brands like philips are not that cheap either. Looking at ebay and seeing prices for a pair of HID for $4.99 + $6.99 for shipping makes me wonder.

i agree, purchase some quality HIDs for your car for safety and reliability. i personally got HIDs from v-leds.com. bit pricey, but imo worth it.

it's cheap bec. it's a knockoff version from either china or korea. aftermarket bulbs have been known to not last long and give different color outputs. if you want to save money, go ahead and buy them; it'll serve the purpose for awhile. but if you want quality, longevity, and equal output, buy OEM.... philips, osrams, or GE.

I have a 2 new D2S 35W MORIMOTO 4300K bulbs if you are interested. I think you need to buy a converter adapter to fit the D2S bulbs to your existing ballast(15$ i believe)
I'm selling the bulbs for 40$, good luck with the ebay bulbs lol.

Don't buy them if they're that cheap.

I'd say get the OEM phillips bulbs again, but they're about $100. Not sure if it's out of your budget. Kaixen are real good too, a vendor sells them here.
