Can't remove the center hub nut to save my life!!!!!!!!
Me and a friend of mine tried everything we could possibly do to get this nut off. its supposed to only be 181 ft. lbs of torque...yeah right. i think its welded on...lol! PB lubricant and no lie, like 6 feet of steel couldn't budge it. I called sears after not being able to get it loose, my buddy works there btw, and we made sure it wasn't reverse threaded or whatever, cause that would blow. but honestly didn't budge a millimeter. what do i do?

I take it your trying to do your cvs or something of that sort. I just did mine. Me and my friend threw a 1/2inch ratchet on there with about 5 feet of steel tub. The car rolled foward and the craftsman ratchet snapped. We tried an air gun....its a 36MM i believe...your gonna need that to. Needless to say.......i said screw it and we took an air hammer/ chisel/ drill to it. It took about an hour and alot of lub on the nut to keep it cool. This was the hardest nut to bust....ever. Your best bet is to try and have a shop loosen it up or get an extremely large ratchet....3/4 i think and maybe the handle from your jack. The ratchet from sears will run about 108 so ya. Heres what my nut looked like after we were done.

thats what i was worried about. we had 6 feet and two guys bouncing up and down making the breaker bar bend to the floor. What in the hell was Acura thinking? 181 ft lbs. my ass!

I think from driving it might tighten up more. If your replacing the CV's then you really dont have to worry about messing up the threads. Im not suggesting you do what i did....but if it works it works. Once we got that far we used the air gun to get it off.

Im just going to heat it up with a torch and take a shop sized impact gun to it. my friend works at sears automotive so we are gonna try that method. its coming off one way or another!!!

these nuts were not tightened that tight to begin with...there's no way, they would snap...it's just that when they sit there for years on end...corrosion/dirt/heat/inactivity literally welds them toghter.
best bet is a very powerful impact wrench...it knocks hard on the nut and the vibration causes the particles to move around...a few dozen knocks from a powerful impact wrench should get it off....in the mean time...take an extension rod and knock it against the nut with a hammer...that vibration would help you too.
