Been a while, bought another RL...

Same thing with looking for parts off of cars... try to find the paint matched side skirts and mud flaps if you need them off of the newer years of the 3.5RLs... Makes a noticeable difference.

Yea, I like the steering wheel mod. As far as side skirts and mud flaps, I'm good on those. I'm thinking of making a short air intake since I don't particularly like how low the air duct is. Occasionally I have to go through water when it floods around here and it scares me every time because I know how low the duct goes (A few months ago I went through a "road lake" that ended up lapping at my headlights, scary stuff). I just bought an 04 Audi All-road yesterday for $3900 and realized how high the intake in that was (of course, it's a different vehicle capable of different stuff....but still) so that made me think about how low the RL was.
Any suggestions on a short intake?

Not really. The Legends have the same type of engine set up though... I'm sure if you do a search for an intake for those, you'll find something for our car or just use an aftermarket intake for a Legend on the RL of course.
Personally... after working on Hondas for years, i think the one thing i would never mess with after everything I've pieced together and tweaked would be the air box / intake. I'd say replace the filter to a better one, maybe K+N and go from there... if needed, remove the lower portion of the intake tubes that run up to the intake if you're that worried about it...
But over the years, I did the cold air intake and then went to short ram, and then went to a intake tube with the stock air box and removed the lower shroud on the intake box... that worked well for me for years on my old Civcs. Just my two pennies...
Old EK Civic setup... don't worry, I didn't keep it Matte Hunter Green for long.

Camouflaged Civic FTW lol
I had a 97 accord matte black for the majority of the time as well.
You're right, I'll probably just remove the lower portion. Unfortunately, I'm missing both front fenderliners as well as the center bottom one, so that air tube is protecting my fog light from getting drenched when it rains. I'll have to cut my losses I suppose.
Fenderliners are ridiculously expensive. I would be looking at about 350 to replace em.
Blah

Interesting... check that www.car-parts.com and see if they have anything for you on there.
I'll keep my eyes peeled at the local yards as well.

I check Craigslist as well... sometimes, or at least around here, they post them as parts cars to pick over.
Check on there and see what happens.

I was looking at those exact lugs actually. Lol
Or a teal color for fun and then powder coat my calipers to match... or powder coat them all black and finish my new modification. Ugh.
Fucking decisions

so a big thing in the TL community is how the new RDX has brake caliper covers... well, i decided to jump on the bandwagon and look into it considering that they are $12 / each cover... Not a bad way to hide the ugly calipers and clean things up and have "ACURA" on the fronts.
Well, they don't really... fit. I'm going to play with it a little more and paint the calipers gloss black and see if i can match it slightly. Like i said, at the most, I'm out $37... but if it works out and looks decent, then i'll run with it for a while until i upgrade all the brake components finally.

Had a bit of an off weekend. Nothing worked out to plan and things got messed up so I didn't get to work on the car like i wanted to, but i decided to play around and see what would happen if I messed with the TL wheels...
Don't mind the slight over spray... I figured i'd clean them up at the end. Lol
I never got to test fit them and only got two done, but i might play with them tonight to see how they look for fun.

Well.. i kind of like the white look on the gray car. Kind of. But white TL wheels on the RL... they don't look right. Lol
But at least now I get to work on the car more since one of the lugs got messed up! New parts again! Lol But I put the Klutch wheels back on all around and I'm pleased with that more than ever.

Well... i might do it again but on a different type of wheel. I liked the white, but i think if i did something sporty, I'd go for the Work Emotion Kai CR in white for fun... but who knows...
I guess I'm still in my "tuner car" state of mind. Lol

Hmm, everyone has a different opinion on plastidip. Some people say its trash, some people say its okay....I guess it depends who applies it and how good of a job it is done. I wouldn't mind trying it though. So how many cans did you get to completely do all 4? And I suppose I can not bother to cover the tire and I can just peel off the overspray correct?
If brake dust gets on it can you clean it with water without tearing it?

See, i only did 2 wheels and when i picked up the wheels, there was already brake dust getting on it in some spots which was annoying.
I tried to get that one lug off last night and sprayed some PB Blaster on the lug to help, it ran down the wheel and messed up the Plastidip and some of it came off completely in the lug holes... granted i didn't prep those well.
But i think it's a cool idea depending on the application, but white Plastidip on wheels... it might not hold up well and i applied 3-4 coats.
If i was to do white wheels... I'd prefer to powder coat honestly.
