Another tsx Coilovers question

Please don't bash me but i have one question does anyone have a picture of when they were installing their coilovers in the rear?, the reason for asking is how big of a washer (width wise) do I need to use and is the washer used on the bottom through bolt or on the strut tower itself? Im kind of confused about this part

tein street basis, i just ordered them, and as far as i know the old tophats (WITHOUT THE RUBBER SEAL) are a basic drop in and the coliovers bolt right up with the use of the old forks on the front of course. Its only in the back where a washer is needed. Someone correct me if I'am wrong.

Is it the new Tein street basic or the old model? I've heard the new one is pretty good.

Hey I'm a new member, and I just recently purchased my 2000 rl and ordered coilovers, was wondering with the drop, does the rl have any problems going over speed bumps. More so than a regular slammed car? Because the rl is really long.
I was planning on dropping to no tire gap.

Over regular speedbumps slammed on stock tire size meaning 16's you wont have an issue but with a passenger your exhaust will scrape, at least thats what i experienced

Are the ksport legend coils & tein street basis a prefect fit or do you need to do some modding to make them fit.?

The front teins are a direct fit you just have take out the rubber from the oem tophats amd bolt them down, like I said I have yet to put rear ones on but what I have read is that all you need to do is add a washer to make them fit hope this helps you out and I reccomend having an extra set of hands once youre putting them on bec it never hurts hope this helps

Thanks for bringing this back up and answering the questions! I went to my local speed shop and got a quote for the Tein Basis. I'll hopefully be installing them soon enough!

Also forgot to ask (too late to edit) do you need impact tools to do the job? I have a friend who has them so it's not a problem, but I was wondering if I can complete the job at my house...

Why do you want to do that? I thought all ksport coilover for tsx have damper setting on them, so using the oem tophat on a coilover with damper setting is a waste to me.

because from what i gather, the TSX top hats wont fit on our cars, and i really dont feel like finding front pinch forks to use the legend version of the ksport suspension...

I had my friend call Ksport and ask if i could get a tsx kit with the top hats from a legend kit and they said, (and i quote) friend-"they said, not possible" me-"did they say why?" friend-"they guy was kind of a dick, he's like, 'no, cant do'..."

Ok lol that is a very bad customer service, but anyway, a member here had a TSX Megan EZ coilover with damper setting and all he did was drill out the holes a little bigger. I don't know if the mounting stub on the megan is the same as the ksport or not.

from what i hear, D2, Ksport, and Megan are all made by the same manufacturer, just produced in different colors... ( but im not 100% sure)

anyways, i figure doing this is alot more inexpensive than buying the legend forks, and still buying a drill bit to make holes for the strut tower bar bolts...

I actually found a few Legends in junkyards in my area. I thought about ripping the headers off a Legend engine but alas no time and no patience.
