Stupid question but are you sure you have the correct nav code for it? If you got it from a dealer based of the VIN on the car could their be a chance the nav unit was replaced in the past because of a prior problem. In this case the nav code could be different then the one the dealers have on file. At least the way I would think of it. Before you go and buy a new nav I would pull the serial number off the back of the nav and call it in that way. Could save some cash. Unless I'm totally reading it wrong and your nav is just broken.
