96 RL -- Looking for different wheels

Alright guys...since our 1st gen. forum doesn't have a suspension/wheel section, I'm asking everyone.

My car has the dreaded ugly OEM wheels on it. (At least I consider them ugly) They are the full face with the numerous holes around the lip that do nothing but trap brake dust and create stains that cannot be removed. I'm looking for something different. I don't want anything flashy at all...in fact I would like to find another OEM type will that will bolt right up. Money is definitely an issue.

Ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Cory

2002 (the only year) RL wheels > Any other stock RL wheel.

Or.. if you can find them, the 16" Legend wheels.

Try looking at any other Acura wheels. 5x114 is the bolt patern your looking for.

Also nissan/infiniti has the same bolt pattern as honda/acura, but you gotta watch out for those offsets or your wheels will be overpoked/tucked...

Maybe 3rd gen TL 5 Spoke rims. Guys are always selling them here. Infiniti/nissan rims don't match the conservative styling of the 1st gen RL.

I'm also looking for wheels, the 97 rims are so dull. Looking at the newest tl-s wheels right now...

What's our offset like? Whats the lowest offset we can go without rubbing?

What's the widest/biggest rim can we fit there with a good offset to sit flush?

Same for the tires to fit comfortably?

Thanks...

What color is your car? I don't think this wheel works look wise. It will fit no issue but 3rd gen TL's have black window trim vs RL with chrome. If you are up for using Duplicolors' "Plasti Dip" spray plastic that covers the chrome black, then they'd look great. Many members are selling type S rims on here or settle for TL 5 spoke rims look great too on your car. But state the color of your car.

My rl is white, theres only one way to find out how the wheel contrast will work with the car, I can always switch it up. My rl doesn't have chrome trim, otherwise I would def plasti-dip it. I'm more worried about the wheels sitting flush.

Does anyone know stock offsets on a 1997 rl?

Looks as there are no springs offered so the RL will look a little raised.
