96 Acura RL -Cranks but will not run
I have a 1996 Black Acura RL - It cranks strong but will not run. I do notice that when I turned the key the instrument cluster panel lights are off while cranking. I do not hear the fuel pump buzzing when this happen also.
But the time it did run, the panel lights turned on when I turned the key, I heard the fuel pump buzz and the car would crank and run fine.
I have (2) 96 RLs so I swapped the main Relay since that seems to be a common problem. Same symptom in the dead Black RL would just crank but the main relay from my black RL worked fine in my other Beige RL. I check all fuses under the dash and under the hood - they are all fine.
I'm thinking it may be the ignition switch. Am I overlooking something? Any suggestions??
HELP!!! .
............... Thanks

Have you check the negative battery terminal and the battery itself yet? My RL did the same thing, I turned the key and all the light went dim. I replaced the battery and it all good.

Yes, I replaced the battery and cleaned the terminals and ground connections.
Someone mentioned the ignition switch (electrical part) or the crank sensor. How do I removed the ignition switch? or the crank sensor?
