2004 RL Side View Mirror
Anybody know how to remove the passenger side-view mirror on a 2004 RL. The housing is cracked and I want to replace it.
I hope the door panel doesn't have to be removed.

Thanks Ron,
Those instructions look pretty good. Also looks like a lot of work. I hate messing with those door panels; they never seem to stay on when I get finished.

there is no need to remove a door panel to remove the mirrors. i dont even think they are connected in any way at all.
first you would need to pry the triangular plastic panel from the inside of the car. simply do this by using a flathead screwdriver.
after that is removed, you should see three bolts (10mm). remove the harness, then slide out the mirror.
from then just follow the instructions in ronA's link. i recommend removing the mirror assembly first so that it is easier to work and also prevent damage to the glasses mirror and the actuator/ motor.
goodluck with your repair and always remember to have patience.

I removed the mirrors (the entire power unit, not just the mirror part itself) from a 96 RL and the only way is to open the door panel. There are three bolts holding it to the door.
