2002 RL Speaker and Amp Wire Information
I have a 2002 RL with the stock Bose system. I do not have navigation. Can somebody tell me which wire the factory head unit uses to send the amp-on signal? Also, which wires are used for the front speakers? I'm thinking about connecting a bluetooth car kit to the factory head stereo. I'm considering the Motorola HF850 http://direct.motorola.com/ens/carkits/learn-HF850.html.
As far as I know, the RL radio does not have a mute wire. I figure that the best way around this is to use the incoming signal from the HF850 to trip a relay http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=330-070 which would then cut the power to the factory amp. The HF850 would be spliced into the front speakers so that when the amp power is cut, it should be able to use its internal amp to send the signal to the speakers.
Somebody used a similar concept with a Parrot setup a few years ago /forums/showthread.php?t=61436&highlight=bluetooth unfortunately he didn't get into to much detail with color codes of the wires, connection points, etc. Any info that you could provide would be appreciated.
Thanks

Why not just splice the mic coord and hook a switch up that will either make it connect or not? That way you aren't turning the amp on and off? Not sure if it would work but seems more logical. I hooked my sub amp to my radio but I forget which wire I spliced into. I am going to go back in there around September first to do my gauge LEDs, if you don't have it figured out by then, I will let you know.

Thanks, I used my original idea of energizing a relay that kills power to the factory amp. The wiring information is as follows:
Radio 12v white/yellow + radio harness
Radio Ground black - radio harness
Radio Ignition white/red + radio harness
Radio Illumination red/black + radio harness
Factory Amp Turn-on yellow/blue + radio harness
Power Antenna N/A
LF Speaker +/- lt. green - black/red +,- amp behind pass. side of rear seat
RF Speaker +/- red - brown +,- amp behind pass. side of rear seat
LR Speaker +/- gray/blue - yellow/blue +,- amp behind pass. side of rear seat
RR Speaker +/- red/yellow - brown/white +,- amp behind pass. side of rear seat
