2000 Acura RL Problem

Ever since my father changed the car battery, I've been experiencing problems such as the brake lights not working, and the lever not going out of Parking unless I use the shift lock release. I done some research and people have suggested to check the Brake Light Switch, which I have no idea where it is located. So two questions: where is the brake light switch located on an acura rl 2000, and could this be the problem or something else?

Most brake light switches are located on the bracket that stops your brake pedal from going too far.

I'd start by downloading the free service manual here:
http://pdftown.com/Honda-Acura-35RL-Manual.html

Then search for that part and find a diagram... If it needs replacing, check www.acuraoemparts.com
