1996 Acura RL Strut Fork Bushing

Im replacing my front struts very shortly on my 96 RL and the front lower control arm bushing that the strut fork bolts to has seen better days after 170,000 miles. Does anyone know where to find just a new bushing for this? I don't really want to replace the entire control arm, thats quite costly, and i cant seem to find just the bushing itself? Has anyone ever ran into this problem?? Thanks in advance for any help!

damn that sucks Acura only sells that as a complete piece.

You tried asking at local auto parts stores for just the bushing?

I currently have this problem at 101K... but it's not worn too bad yet but don't know what I'm going to do about it yet. Let us know what you do though.

Boostless,

Hey, I have the same issue on my 96 RL. Where you able to accomplish locating just the bushing versus new control arms?

hey i'm not sure but the upper and lower control arm bushings aren't the same are they? if they are then rockauto has one from raybestos that is spec'd for the upper control arms.

1999 ACURA RL 3.5L 3475cc V6 FI [C35A1] SOHC : Suspension : Control Arm Bushing
RAYBESTOS Part # 6111053
Front Suspension; Upper; Plus Or Minus 3/4 Degree Camber; Bushing Only
Bushing Pic *LINK*

it looks like its pretty standard for a lot of honda models (rl 96-04, legend 91-95, tl 95-01, cl 97-99, accord 90-97, prelude 92-01, and few others).

they also have control arms too, but mysteriously not for the front lower.

There is a new part by Mevotech (part number MK80934) Shock Absorber Bushing. It appears that it may fit. I have ordered one and will try.
