04 RL OEM HID's
today when i was driving i noticed my headlights where not the same color as usual. they had gotten to be more of a white then the original bluish tint they were. so when i got home i let the car sit for awhile and i went back out and turned them on and they were normal again. looked like the factory blue hid's but as i let it sit they turned back to the white.. does this mean that they are going bad? do u know what intensity the factory OEM D2R are (as in the K rating)
and the difference in buying the factory oem bulbs on acuraoemparts.com or buying the bulbs at autozone

With HIDs it's normal for them to change color a little as they heat up. I don't know why they used to be a little blue for you but then it stopped being that way and just went pure white.
I have an 01 and I always thought the headlights were closest to a pure white (6000k). If yours had a slight blue tinge that would be considered 8000k I think, but that might be a little too blue. 8000's tend to have a non-OEM look. Look at comparisons before you buy one.

Usually HIDs go the other way (start out white and get bluer as they age). OEM bulbs are 4x00K and will color shift over time to higher K values. Do you know if you have Philips/Osram bulbs or some no name bulbs?
