If it's clean, thats about right. Timing belt/water pump should be done though, the belt is over 12 years old.

When do most folks replace shocks/struts

I have found with most cars they start feeling soft after 75k.
Would a shock change be expected with a 75k car?

I traded in my '02 around Christmas and got close to $11,000. That's TRADE-IN at a dealer. And the car we purchased, we got just barely over cost, factoring in incentives and promotions.

It had 67,000 miles I think and immaculate condition.

I think $9k is on higher side. Given the reliability of these cars, the older age is more of a depreciating factor than the miles in the market place.

Also I would recommend an 02-04 over the 99-01 Model year due to minor improvements done made significant difference in the driving experience.

I bought an 01 with 105K for $7000. Timing belt hadn't been done either. Seems high but location may be a factor.
