Best offset for flush wheels

I hate that the rear wheels sit so deep into the wheel wells and I've read most of the threads in the wheel and tire forum but the one thing I didn't see is what offset will give the best fit for flush look in the rear.
I'm probably going to go with the Vossen CV1 or CV4 in 20x9 which comes in a +38 offset but is that enough to get wheel/tire combo to be even with the fender?

^remember unsprung weight and rotational mass...

It take more energy to get bigger wheels turning, and it takes bigger brakes to stop them.

Marco, I understand...I went from 17's to 19's on my M3 with no issue of course understanding comparing these two vehicles is apples and oranges but I get your point.
Would you say +38 will give me the look I'm going for with a 20x9 wheel?

that should sit 2mm further out than mine. that's not much further, but would be a little flusher. pics for comparison in my albums.

I guess you could always play with spacers..

planning to lower?

Big Hatch, will look at lowering it after the wheels are installed. Looks as if coilovers are the only option...I didn't realize Eibach springs were so hard to find for the RDX as I've had them on almost every car I've owned until now.
How's the ride with the 20's?

Subscribing, I'm in the market for some 20's as well. I'm looking at the HRR GT1 20x8.5 +35 with 235/45r20 rubber. Agreed, Eibachs are turning out to be hard to find.

i have 20 x 8.5 with 20 offset and it sits flush both front and back.

someone else on the forum has 20 x 10 with 40 offset and that sits flush as well. My setup is only 1mm further out than this one.
