BENT rim question
one of my dedicated stock winter rims is bent...thing is,
it balanced fine and i dont feel any vibrations at all.
it is bent from the inside..and mounted on my rear driver
side. tire size is 235/55/18. should i get it fixed
or let it ride out for the winter?

Do you know how it got bent? Looks like the tire is still sitting well on it. Any signs of air leaks? My gut instinct says it might be fine but you never know!! What would be the cost to replace just the one rim?

well..i'm the 2nd owner so i'm sure i wasn't the one who bent it...just disappointing that the dealer didnt catch it with whatever cheapy inspection they do with vehicles.
it will cost $125cdn taxes in to fix this wheel...so i may go that way rather than replacing one rim.

Really those are Bridgestones, hmmm, OEM and Acura recommends Michelins Mwhatevers. I think someone that replaced the tires on the car before you bought it did this. Is there a way that you can take it back to dealer, is it Used cert. pre-owned?
My thought is this wheel was prolly dropped on a tool or something cro-vad or harder than the wheel while they were replacing the tire. Acura should have caught it.. but they are a bunch of tooth fairies anyhow. GL with it, I think the tire/wheel bead may fail by spring.. I wouldnt want to be anywhere around that car when that happens..
It may not be a big problem if you were not in a warmer constant climate, but I would suggest you replace the wheel.

well.. these are my dedicated winters. the car came with bridgestone dueler H/L alenza All Seasons which I sold and slapped on the blizzaks. So when the dealer did the swap, they noticed the bend...so who really knows how it got there..did they do it? i'm sure i didnt do it.. previous owner? anyways, they are on my car now.. i'm wanting to ride it out through the winter (4months) before i arrange to repair it. i do drive everyday so there's always a risk in it...but so many stories out there of people driving on bent rims with no issues. i will repair it but just trying to time it for spring 2012.

I had a wheel fixed for about the same price. I replaced the original and kept the bent one as a spare. IMHO it wasn't really worth it. The work quality was poor and the paint did not match. At the time I had mine fixed there were only a few places doing that kind of work. Shop around and make sure that whomever you choose has satisfied customers before you hand over your hard earned money.
