What's the trick to the trip-meter reset when you add gas?
I've got it enabled in the MID but it only works about 5% of the time. Lately it hasn't worked at all and I don't know what to do.
I asked my dealership and they said the RDX doesn't have the ability to do it :what:. I didn't want to press the issue it but I will if something is broken. Any ideas what I can do? |
Is the trip meter supposed to auto-reset? I don't think so.
I just press and hold the middle button on the right side of the steering console to reset the trip meter. You will have to remember to do it for both A and B (if you care about that). I kinda like that it does not auto-reset. If you are not filling it all the way up and you are monitoring gas mileage, you would not want it to auto-reset. The RDX 'does' automatically recalculate your estimated miles remaining when you add gas... |

Mine seems to work all of the time...granted I have only had 3 fill ups so far since I changed the setting but it is 3 for 3.

Mine works every time.
This may not be an issue, but keep in mind that it only resets the A trip meter, the B meter has to be reset manually. I say this because if you switch back and forth between A and B without realizing it then that may account for why it only resets sometimes, no? |

I can't fill my own tank here in Oregon, so I'm wondering if you have to fill it up a certain amount for it to work. edit: do you guys have your rdx completely off when you fill it or do you leave the radio on? |
Not filling it full enough would be my guess.
I hate these full serve states. The only time I had someone else fill my tank in the last 20 years or so was one time when I visited NJ - and they forgot to put my gas cap back on. This was a locking gas cap back in the days before they attached them with little rubber leashes - cost like $100 to replace it. Grrrrrr... |

Fortunately I work right on the border between Oregon & Washington so I'll just drive up on my lunch break to test it out. If that doesn't work, the next time I take it for an oil change I'll show them the manual/MID and tell them to check the sensor. That's the only other thing I can think of that would cause it not to reset. |

I am in NJ too. I think its more of a problem with the gas stations trying to top off the tank too much all the time rather than not filling it up. I have yet to set mine up to reset when I get gas but I will soon because now im curious

Mine worked tonight. Trip A reset to zero after getting gas. I turned off the car completely (like I always do anyway) and put in a significant amount of gas (~13 gallons).

This worked for me tonight. I put in about 14 gallons. it reset the "A" mpg and trip

I think you have to start moving after you add gas! Mine didn't reset when I turned the car on and started it, but as soon as I started to move it reset!
