Weird Key/Battery Stuff!!
Weird Key/Battery Stuff!!
OK I have a brainteaser here. I have a 2011 RDX. In the last month, it has started doing this:
- Once or twice a day - when I turn the key, the car does not start until I release the key from the furthest ignition position. In other words, normal operation is to turn the key, and as you are turning it clockwise to the last position, the car starts. Lately it's been doing this thing where it does not start until I turn the key all the way, and then release (allowing it to turn counter-clockwise one position on it's own).
- Three times this month - I turn the key, release it, and nothing happens. Meaning NOTHING. The dash stays dark, the radio doesn't come on. NOTHING. If I try again right away, NOTHING. On all three occasions, after waiting a few minutes and trying again, it starts up, but the radio, anti-theft, etc has been reset (as if the battery was disconnected)
Any ideas??? Additional info:
-the season has changed here in Chicago and it's getting colder - could this affect anything?
-the battery is only 6 months old
