Vibration/Balancing Help

Vibration/Balancing Help
Fellow Acura Owners,
I'm in need of some advice for a vibration that I'm having on my 2007 RDX when driving at 120-130 km/h.
At this speed, and this speed only, I have an annoying vibration in the steering wheel, and can somewhat feel it in the gas pedal. The vehicle also feels as though it slightly pulls or drifts to the right as I drive and let go of the wheel.
At first, I had my summer tires on, balanced it at Acura TWICE, AND did the alignment, but still not fixed. My buddy who's a Honda Tech suggested it may be a damaged/warped tire that needs to be replaced. I recently just put on my new winter tires and rims, and the problems still persists.
Any suggestions on what this problem may be? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Could be a bad tire or bent wheel, but not so likely if it persists with both sets of wheels and tires.
Check the wheel bearings for play. Then the ball joint. Then the tie rod ends. Then the control arm bushings. Maximum allowable play is...none.

OMG! I have the same problem. 07 RDX Tech. Around 42000 miles. Never noticed it until this summer around August when on a long trip I would occasionally get noticible vibration at speeds between 65mph and 75mph. Not too far from the original posters speed. When I let off the gas it disappears and doesn't come back immediately, but every now and then at that speed I have been noticing it.

hey everyone, i'm a new member to the site. i have a 07 RDX and also experiencing a similar issue. the vibration occurs sparatically, i can definitely feel it in the gas pedal. tires and wheels balance out just fine normal wear on tires. the problem almost feels like its coming from the transmission. if anyone has any possible answers i would really appreciate the help. thanks!

get your tires balanced on the car. world of difference. Acura dealers do not do this. Call some prof tire shops and ask how they balance. When all else fails, get them balanced 'on the car', if you've never done this, a quick google will let you know whats up. Ive done this with all my Hondas and Acuras since 1995 and will never get them done any other way, especially useful for high-speed issues.

If it was balancing problem, the vibration would manifest reliably at the target speed, but my vibration does not happen all the time. Only very now and then the noticible vibration happens at that speed. Slow down and the vibration disappears, and speed up to the speed range again and the vibration does not happen, until it decides to vibrate again.
My thought is the front or back SH-AWD clutch oscillating between the right and the left side. Just my wild guess.

I have the same issue and I noticed a clunk in the steering wheel whenever the vehicle is completely stopped and you make a short turn to the left (still not moving). The techs at the honda dealership I work for suspect the issue could be a wheel bearing.
I notice that the shaking is only heard really when turning at highways speeds. I never mentioned it to the guy onlyl b/c i want to see how the vehicle drives after the clunk issue is repaired. I'll keep the group up to date of what is going on.

I just bought a 2011 rdx with tech package and i noticed the vibration on the gas pedal as well , so i called the dealer and they went on a test drive with me they say its normal. I only have 500kms on it so far so they told me drive it for a bit.

I had this exact problem when I switched out my 18s for my 19s. I must have jarred something when putting them on. Anyway, I went to the shop after I had my springs put in and had my wheels balanced as well as an alignment and my steering wheel no longer shakes.

So after all this time I finally figured it out and always had a gut feeling about this since the beginning. When I first got the car the dealer put on a set of some bullshit aftermarket rotors and pads just to get it on the road. I waited until they wore out and replaced the fronts with honda oem rotors and pads and the problem is solved. I just need to do the rear ones now which is not a big deal. I will do them before the winter hits. I hope this helps. Cheers!

Think that your missing hub centric adapter or the OEM wheel was tightened out of sequence. Which will cause the wheel to not center on the hub. And it is possible that the condition was fixed when the wheel/ rotor was replaced and lugs were tightened in sequence. Just a thought.

Turns out that the rotors didn't solve anything. I replaced all 4 rotors and still get the vibrations in the steering wheel. The only thing I can think of is getting a full B service to inspect the tie rods, suspension components, etc. which is what Jock said I should have done a while back. I'll do that next and keep everyone posted. This sucks ass!
