Sporadic Rough Driving
Hello... I am new here... just purchased a 2009 RDX with Tech Pkg on February 13, 2009. I actually do NOT have the vehicle yet; the dealer gave me a loaner as they had to ship my car in.
Anyway... realizing I was in a dealer loaner car, I was driving down the freeway going between 60 & 65, and the car starts sputtering... not sure how else to describe it... but it got so bad it felt like the engine was going to fall out. I checked the control panel and it indicated that everything was fine. I wondered, too, if it was just because the road was bumpy... bad asphalt job... but it happened on and off, and although the road looked smooth, the car would still sputter. I realize the RDX doesn't have a smooth drive (according to Car and Driver Magazine and Consumer Reports), but the sputtering we felt driving down the freeway was bad.
Anyone else have this experience and if so, what is the issue and can it be fixed?
Thank you!

Sputtering has nothing to do with the road/ride quality. Sounds like a bad sensor or something. I'd take it into the dealer ASAP. I've had issues where it takes a while before the check engine light comes on.

Thank you to those who have responded. I think that it is just a 'beater' loaner car, but I did report the issue to the dealer, and I saved my gas receipts to show that I have, in fact, used premium fuel.
I will finally pick up my Palladium Silver 2009 RDX w/Tech on Friday (2/20) and I hope everything will be fine. Will keep you all posted

This is why I will never purchase a "used" car with low miles on it when it's been used as a loaner. I just always buy new. If something goes wrong, for the most part, it's my fault.

I finally picked up MY RDX, and the drive is so incredibly different. That loaner was a piece. I was certain to let the dealership know the mechanical issues i felt were going on, and I provided my gas receipts to show I was using premium unleaded. Last thing I need is for them to come to me and accuse me of using cheap gas or whatever.
BTW... I am LOVING my RDX. So happy I made the purchase. The drive is incredible. And in all honestly, the car is parked in the garage, and has been for most of the day. Part of me wants to drive EVERYWHERE, but I don't want to expose the car to the hazards of random flying rocks and stuff like that. Crazy... :-)
