Snow damaged rear wiper on 07 RDX
Hello everyone
My rear windshield wiper was a casualty in the latest blizzard that hit part of the country. It was partly my fault for not moving my car up far enough in the driveway out of the range of the snow that slid off my upper awnings. Usually I am but the snow had other ideas it seems.
The black plastic cover to the actual mechanism got hit and is cracked & now able to be removed. If I take it off, the arm of the WW just hangs down on the back of the car. I put it back on to keep it from doing that so it will at least stay put on the rear window. I won't use it though because I dont' want to make anything worse.
Is this a DIY fix or do I need to take it to someplace to get it fixed? The cord that powers the mechanism is still intact it seems but I think it is more than just replacing the little cover. Just wanted to see if anyone had any history doing this.
Thanks all

The mounting nut is probably loose.
Remove the nut and arm assembly.
Park the motor at it's proper spot.
Install the arm assembly in it's normal parking spot.
Reinstall the nut and cover.

The plastic cover broke off and the arm as well. I looked at the diagrams of the assembly & figured out what I needed. Ordered the parts from an Acura dealer so hopefully I will be ok. Already had a new wiper to use so just waiting for the parts now.
