Rough Idle w/ BVP and short ram.

Hey guys, first time posting here.
I searched around but did not find anything i was looking for, so I am going to post see if you guys have had a similar situation.

So, I installed an aftermarket BVP on my 2012 RDX. Car ran perfect, no check engine light... no noticeable changes other then sound.

Problem comes in when i install a somewhat custom short ram intake. By what i mean by somewhat custom is, i used an old INJEN short ram i had, with a slight bent piece for the curve.
So before i did all this, i disconnected the battery.. after being done.. connected battery back on and let it idle for about 15 mins. No check engine light once again, But i noticed that the rpms fluctuate now, and rpms drop to near 500rpm. Also looks like i lost most power. I floor it while the car is moving, and it just doesn't move at all.. I plan on putting back the stock intake on it, but wondering if anyone has had a similar issue.

So basically.

with aftermarket BVP
-No check engine light, normal idle, no loss of power.

with custom short ram and BVP
-Slight rough idle, RPM dropping to near 500's really sluggish acceleration and no power.

So if anyone has any idea why the short ram might be causing an issue, please share.
Thanks!

Sorry, instead of BVP, I meant BPV as in the bypass valve.

From everywhere I've read, all custom intakes aside from CP-E and K&N will throw check engine lights. (Unless tuned properly of course)

It could be the diameter of the piping, it could be placement of the MAF within the piping, but in any event, the car doesn't like the pipe and it'll most definitely cause it to go basically in to limp mode.

Hey thanks for the reply. I've read around too, about intakes causing a check engine light.

But yesterday I took a trip drove the car for about 2hrs... no check engine light still... car runs fine while normal driving. The noticeable things is just fluctuating idle, with a massive power loss at WOT.
I guess it doesn't like it, so i will be switching back to stock.
I will also try and post a picture today of the engine bay with how the short ram is set up so you guys get a better idea.

Like other people we’re saying, you need to answer a few questions for us.

One did you move the mass air flow meter from the stock location?

Two did you change the diameter of the piping?

Three did you change the length of the intake run?

Four what size filter did you put on the vehicle and is it clean?

Five those pictures will help us help you!
