Rough Downshift

I have an 07 RDX. When I slow down and my transmission shifts from 5th gear to 4th gear the car does a noticeable jerk. It's not smooth. Is this normal? My dealer says it's normal, but I've had an MDX loaner this week and it does not do this. Does anyone notice this on their RDX?

Sorry to revive an old topic however I just purchased a 07 RDX with about 32k on it now and I am expierencing this around 35mph when coming to a stop. It's not all the time but when it does do it, its noticeable.

This is a certified car so all the fluids were changed (apparently).

Something to concern myself? Anything I can do to rule something out?

not sure if what you guys are talking about is a real slamming down shift, or experiencing (what ive experienced in owning hondas for 15 yrs) is when i 'slow down' take my foot off the gas etc - the tranny always burps, almost like it stutters for a moment - my 08 does it all the time, my 07 RDX did it - my accords, crvs etc did it. Its aggravating and not smooth, but its never posed as a problem.

Yes. I believe this sensation is what I'm expierencing as well. You've described it verbatim to it. At what speed(s) do you expierence this? And how many miles did you have on your 07 and 08? Is there some sort of transmission ECU flash that can fix this? It seems to be misguided electronically almost-just an assumption. But you lead me to believe I shouldn't concern myself with it.

BTW, did you trade up to have a newer model year or was there another motive?

Thanks so much.
