RDX trunk issues

Hi everyone. Hate for my first post to be a problem but here goes .. I just bought my first Acura .. a beautiful 2009 RDX Base Turbo SH.. I've had it for four days and I'm locked out of the tailgate.

I opened it one time to remove the summer tires/closed it and after groceries today I noticed it was locked. I have no remote button for the tailgate, no button near the door nor in the glove box and no manual lever to open from the inside ? How is this possible? .. I must be missing something ..

I've unlocked all doors with the remote many times but the tailgate remains locked with no way of opening .. welp!

The remote is supposed to unlock all doors when you double press the unlock button. Seems the latch mechanism may be stuck.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
So is there a way to access the latch mechanism manually ?
I have checked the fuse box under the hood and the fuse box below the steering column to no avail. No fuse labelled tailgate/liftgate/rear door.
hmmn. Should I go to an Acura dealership for this ?

From the 2009 RDX Owners Manual...

I have located the hole, but apart from the wire - having a hard time seeing the actual release lever.

Regardless. Posted this picture incase any one needs it for future reference..

Assuming there is nothing broken within the mechanism, there is a little plastic door on the inside if the tailgate which you open and there should be like a pull attached to a rope which releases the trunk latch.

Update: A combination of human error (stupid me!) not waiting a second or two for the unlocking mechanism to kick in and a slightly-jammed-up latch.

No electrical problem detected at all.

Gotta hold down the rubber part until, you hear the unlocking - then one swift pull will get it.

Additionally, I disabled ALL in the Auto Door Unlock settings... for some reason the tailgate was popping very very slightly ajar every time I started the vehicle which proved highly annoying (console beeping taligate open + getting out each time to close it)

FYI… There are 2 long, rubber, threaded, bumpers/adjusters on the trunk hatch. These are for adjusting the tightness of the hatch to the body of the vehicle. They are located on the hatch itself, about halfway up, one on each side.

Simply twist each one about a 1/2 turn using your fingers. Open and close the hatch a few times to and readjust as needed to fix the hatch pressure against the powered locking latch.

I think yours are adjusted out too far (too long) and are putting too much pressure against the trunk lock.
