RDX - Alignment _ Negative Camber
RDX - Alignment _ Negative Camber
Hello-
I have recently changed new tires to my RDX.
The main reason was because the back tires were wearing off at the inside. They were shown all wire mesh.
After the tire shop complete the installation and alignment, their report showed a Left Rear Camber: -2.5
and Right Rear Camber -2.0.
They said : we are not able to fix the Negative Camber at the rear Wheels, take it to your Acura Service Dept.
The Dealer want me to do the Alignment again ($100) so they can check what's going on. If they can't fix it with the new alignment, they will check if the warranty cover this issue.
Well, I'm worry that they (Dealership) broke my bank and don't fix anything and my new tires wear in about 12-18 mo.
What is a normal number for Camber?
Is this happen to your RDX before?
Suggestion please!
Thanks
JR

I do not know about the RDX specifically, but on 2004 TSXs, there is a TSB for the right rear camber being out of specification. This is due to a bent or broken rear upper control arm. I actually just had this problem on my TSX earlier this year and had it fixed. So I guess I would just have the dealer check your suspension - there may be something wrong that has caused your camber to be out of spec. You want it fixed so you don't chew through tires, and you may also notice the handling of your vehicle is not as it should be. Mine actually threw my toe out of whack as well, so the car just felt awful.
As for now ....is a Suspension Manufacturer Problem.
Warranty will cover. OK.
What about my tires????
I put new tires a week ago due to this issue.
Last time I took the car to do service @ the Dealer they just want to change my tires, but didn't identify the problem.
The only thing I didn't install my new tires with them...
Let see what happen when I pick up my RDX tonight.
