just came back from the dealer with AC problem. My 08 has 20,000 miles on it and they told me that the condenser is punctured. And that is not covered by the warranty.

You buy a new car to avoid repairs in the first years and on the first year you can already start to PAY.

Is the only solution replacing the condensor?

If it was a big rock who hit it than their should be a lot of damage on the condenser. I hope that small rocks with almost no damage on the condenser will puncture it.
I will ask a local repair shop for their advise

It probably got hit by a rock. That's no more a warranty item than if a rock chipped your paint or took out the windshield.

Your leak is probably too big for the sealer to work. You will have to buy freon and if the sealer does not work, then you'll be back to replacing the consenser and buying more freon.....again.

Before you get a new condenser at the stealership take it to an A/C shop and see what they say about repairing the hole. It's sometimes possible but don't expect much, the A/C pressure is high and repairs don't usually last.

 

That shouldnt be covered under warranty. Obviously, it was small enough to cause a pin-sized hole to evacuate the stuff in the condensor.

 

That is why i put grill on the front top ant bottom opening.

No I got Aluminum Grill mash made by Pilot. I cut em and install fom inside. Used nylon tide wrap to secure them.
