P2263
P2263
Hello everyone, my name is Ed and I have a 2009 Acura rdx with a 7 month old new turbo.
My rdx runs great, doesn't smoke, builds great boost and has plenty of power.
BUT I keep getting the p2263 code. If I drive lightly I will not get the code. It is when I press the gas to get onto the highway or pass someone, then the p2263 will pop up.
omeone.i have spent 2 weeks on this site and have tried several things. I even have the Acura Service Manual but I do not have a Honda HDS and they are 2 thousand dollars.
I'm sure this is something simple but I don't want to just throw parts at it till it's fixed. I'd love to fix it properly. The actuator bolt is all new with zero play or wear in it.
If anyone would advise me on what to do or test I'd be more than happy to do so.
Thank you so much in advance for your time, knowledge and help. I do sincerely appreciate it and made this my last resort doing what i could do until i bothered someone.
thank you and have a would weekend.
Ed

Hi Ed.
I use a Foxwell Nt510-Elite with the honda acura liscense which seems to pull all codes that a honda OEM scanner does. I have not put it into SCS mode which is like a detailed service diagnostic mode but i did not see the need too.
Your turbo is new, were the hoses feeding the turbo changed and any tears in the intake tubing and was your air filter changed recently (use oem ones).
My recommendations would be to pick up a scanner that can do honda/acura modules first to see what other codes are coming up (the foxwell one i have ran me 200-300$ canadian).
When you are accelerating, does the boost gauge operate normally, does it go up and stay up, stay low, wiggle, or does it fail to get up?
You can smoke test the system, (personally have not done it yet but plan too) to check for leaks. With a new turbo in there, you have pretty much checked the most expensive part of the engine that can fail so atleast that is behind you.
Try to post some pictures of it mounted in the engine.

Check this thread - it's almost always near the top of the page. Very likely your turbo inlet actuator bolt is worn out, allowing for too much play when trying to adjust the inlet air flow. It doesn't trigger on light driving because your actuator is not likely activating enough (or at all) for high flow scenarios. Same exact symptoms that myself and countless others have experienced over the years.

boost gauge works great, very smooth, sweeps the whole range.
Hoses were not changed and looked good then. Im waiting on a air filter now. It was new but not oem. But the aftermarket one worked fine for 8 months.
