oil change timing?

oil change timing?
so i read the manual and doesn't really seems like it mentions that 3k-4k miles or 3mths deal before an oil change.
so my question is should i just get the oil change when it reads 15% or what? mainly because i don't drive to much and if i wait then chances are i would probably get an oil change every 7mths or so. because right now it is at 40% and i probably had an oil change 5mths ago or more.

In my wifes fit we change the oil as recommended (when the oil life indicator reaches 15%). In my other vehicles I change every 3k. The only real way to tell whether or not your oil needs to be changed would be to take a sample and have it analyzed at a lab. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/what-is-oil-analysis.php Say you get it analyzed at 4k miles and it is great, then wait a little longer. You test it again at 6k and the additives/viscosity is starting to degrade, then you know you need to change it somewhere around 5kish. Thats how I would gauge the correct time to change your oil.
Everyone's conditions are different; climate, driving style, etc. So two of the exact same vehicles with the exact same oil could have different change intervals based on those variables.
