Noise at high rpm in first or second gear
Has anyone noticed a "putt putt" sound come from the motor when normal driving, and hitting the higher rpm range in the first or second gear? It's annoying, and makes the car sound like an old beater car at that point. Doesn't always do it, but randomly does.

No, not redlining. Not even close actually. I'm almost wondering if its like a heat shield thats rattling. Kinda resembles that sound. I'm gonna call acura, and set up an appointment, for I have 2 other rattles inside the vehicle (one in the sunroof, and one in the passenger side B pillar) and my front bumper isn't set properly under the drivers side headlight. I could probably fix the bumper myself, but figure if I'm going to be paying 40+ g's for a vehicle, I'll let them fix the dang thing. lol. Plus if they scratch the bumper, then it's their fault.

They're have been reported problems with the same kind of noise, and where you describe it from coming from too, the dealer will fix it no problem if you don't want to.

any update on this OP? cuz i think i am starting to hear the same noise...at first it sounded like a rubbing/grinding sound coming from the right front tire area...but then the more and more i hear it, it sounds like it's coming from either the front right or the entire front axle.
i don't really know how to explain the sound.
and i notice it happens in first and second only (i think). i'm going to play around with the manual mode to find out if in fact it is in 1st and 2nd only. the sound is more prominent going uphill (basically when the engine needs to work harder). even around 3500 rpms and i can hear the sound. i have my first service scheduled this weekend, but i'm hoping someone can shed some light on it before i go in....that way i can explain it better to the service dept.
thanks.

my car does the putter...not constant, but on acceleration at lower speeds. I notice it driving through neighborhoods more because of the echoes...it sounds pretty funny like a wind up toy almost....doesnt seem to present any type of problem tho, for some reason i think i remember reading about this in one of the magazines because it did ring a bell when i read the post...cant remember though
