metal clanging/twangy noise?
hi, i just found these boards and i really hope you can help!
our '07 RDX (about 9k miles) started making this occasional twangy noise like a spring popping or something. it sounded like it was coming from somewhere in the front - at first under the driver side but then seemed to be more center. we took it in for service and thankfully it made the noise when they drove it. they diagnosed the backing plate for the rotors as being bent and they straightened it. we took it home and seemed fine until now a week later it's doing it again - but this time more of a clanging metal sound than a twanging.
there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it happens (any speed, any time during the drive - doesn't even happen everytime i drive) but now it's loud enough when it does happen to be heard over the radio... before i bother to take it back in i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas...thanks so much!

Mine was making the same light metallic buzzy twang, usually under acceleration. I raised the car and went around under it twanging stuff. Quickly discovered it was the rotor splash shields and the cat heat shield (both light metal).
I carefully bent both still they stopped the buzziness and have had no problems since.
