Key Fob Broken - Key closes without pressing button
Normally you should have to press the little button to fold the key into the key fob, but I guess the button on mines broken because it folds with out pressing the button.
Can this be fixed, or do I have to buy a new one?
Thanks.

stealers! the part inside (eg. program/transmitter) may be kept while your "housing" shld be able to be replaced. at least that's what i thought when i disassembled/reassembled the key fob. but i guess if they say they need to "sell and reprogram" the entire thing, oh well...

I got a brand new key from the dealer for $80 (key and fob). I just want to give it a new look so i took apart this new key, my old key, and switch everything out.
Now i end up with a key that has the old remote PCB, new buttons, new housing, new battery, new screws, and the old blade with the old chip.
Ask the dealer to sell you just the part, and there's a total of 4 screws to take the whole thing apart. i'm sure you'll know what i mean when you have it in your hand.
so... yes, it can be done, to fix your key with a new look without the programming.
However, in your case, there's a big chance that the hard plastic ring that attached to your old blade is worn out or chipped, so that the silver little button can't lock the ring in place. if this is the case, you can get the dealer JUST TO CUT the key (cost $10 here at the dealership in Toronto Canada) and program it yourself. I found instructions on the internet showing you how to program the chip and the fob.
Hope this help.
