Glove box alignment

Every since I bought mine, the glove box when closed doesn't line up with the rest of the trim. It's not a huge thing since it doesn't rattle, just aesthetics. Still, if it's an easy fix I'd like to do it. Maybe something in the latch can be tightened? Anyone else experience this? 2010 RDX tech

No one else has a low-hanging glove box? I should buy a lottery ticket...anyway I plan to dig a little deeper on it this weekend time permitting. If I find a fix I'll post it up for anyone that might come across this in the future.

Yes and quite possibly yes. Still, as I dug around in there I could not find anything adjustable, or even where anything could have shifted. Not giving up, but probably won't look at it again until it's under 100 degrees outside.

Talking

I am looking at this also. Just purchased an '07 Tech that has a similar glove box issue. I tried bending the latch up a little, then tried shimming the forward-most screw on the latch to angle it up a little more so that it will latch a little closer to the dash. Also loosened the glove box bolts at the bottom near the hinge.

I saw the best improvement by shimming the bottom screw closest to the passenger door, basically hanging the glove box "crooked", but doing this draws up the left edge of the door closer to the dash. Doing this got me a few millimeters better for the gap you're talking about.

The only way I could see doing better is taking the glove box and latch completely out, then slotting all of the holes with a dremel. This way you'd be able to adjust the forward/back position of the hinge as well as potentially moving the latch up and forward while still allowing the box to close smoothly.

I may try this over the weekend as I'm already dedicating my time to getting the RDX back to like-new condition. I think it's had nearly every common issue with the 1G's so far... glove box, blown speakers, A/C mix door creak, console armrest separating... I think that's it so far lol, but I've only had it 2 weeks

Same here! Just found the thread, PO just wrapped some electric tape on the hinge, this got rid of a slight rattle, but didn't help on the alignment, which is noticeable on the center side of the trim, not door side.
If any of you managed to align it, would like to learn about.
Thanks.

Glad you bumped this - now that summer is long gone and I can spend a few minutes in the garage without sweating all over the interior, I'll take another look at this and report back. As of now though, still misaligned.

So - I'm looking at a couple options.

1. Get access to the latch mechanism on the glove box. But, I'm not sure if the inner plastic just pops off with the right pry and leverage or if there's some glue in there. Would be easier if I could remove the whole assembly, but that looks...difficult. But if I can get in there maybe there is something that can be adjusted.

2. Try the solution that seemed to work for some RSX owners, which is to pry the latch bar up and back. I have my doubts on this, but I might try it...I can always bend it back if it doesn't work. The position of the bar itself cannot be adjusted - only screws in one way.
