Any one have this error code PO842 come on and shut off in there RDX? came out of the store starting the car big stop sign cameup, on d on the display flashing. shut the car down restarted the transmission light still on however drove it home where i checked the trannie fluid seems ok red color and right level. restarted the car no more lights.

 

The flashing "D" is to call your attention to a transmission problem.

Code P0842 is:

the 2nd Clutch Transmission Fluid Pressure Switch is shorted or stuck in the ON position.

The good news: it is caused by an electrical problem only and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.

The switch is a simple screw-in unit that is located under the air box. If the code comes back, either the switch is bad or the wiring is shorted (I'd bet on the bad switch). It's pretty easy to fix.

 

Yep I just had this problem about 3 weeks ago. It was 2 weeks right after my warranty expired. Go figure. $350 later and the sensor was all fixed. Like 737 mentions above, it's an electrical problem, not a mechanical problem.
