Driver's seat slides and rocks on track

I have a 2009 RDX with about 70,000 miles that I purchased recently. I noticed that with braking, accelerating or bumpy roads, I can feel the seat wiggling on the track, only about 1/4 inch or so, but obvious.

I took it to the dealer who stated the whole seat/track mechanism had to be replaced for over $2000. has anybody had similar problems or come up with a cheaper fix? Thanks.

Not sure the part is available separately, but it seems like one of those things where a ratchet set would be all you need to DIY. Maybe there is a matching seat in a wrecked RDX in a junkyard somewhere?

Thx Tom, I emailed a junkyard with a wrecked RDX yesterday but they didn't have the seat part. Taking in to another dealer today for a second opinion.

$2k? Jesus!

I don't know what it may be, but I'm sure it's DIY'able for a fraction on that!

Case in point; My nav system with giving an error. Dealers were fixing the same issue in the tune of $2k-$3k. I did it myself for $50.

Had a similar problem with our '98 Vert. Both seats could be moved (slid) forward and back about 1/4". Cause was nylon bushings failing.

Here is the repair link...

Might give you a rough idea of a DIY repair.

3 parts are dealer items (link below)...the slide motor and 2 cables.
