Battery drains after 20mins when key is 'ON'

Hey All, has anyone experienced battery drainage after 20mins with the car electronics on? Here's what happens to me:

1. Engine is OFF.
2. Key is in the ON position.
3. Headlights off, radio on, charging phone via 12V charger, using bluetooth
4. Wait 20mins.
5. Battery is too low to start the car.

The starter will barely turn over because the battery is near dead. Turn the key to OFF, wait 30 seconds, try to start again, the car will barely turn over, then start. (Phew!)

This has happened a few times to me while I'm waiting in the car while parked. At my last check-up, the battery failed the battery test and was replaced. Same result with a new battery.

Ideas?

get a new battery...the one in the rdx is cheap and quite weak for that vehicle. The battery in the rdx is good for a Tercel not a RDX :P

That's interesting. I've taken ours to the drive-in and had the electronics on but no engine for up to 45 minutes and had no problem starting the car. Definitely get a new battery.

Had a service tech tell me the battery would drain if you sat for 20 minutes, engine off with the tech stuff on. So apparently Acura knows about the weak battery or least they'll admit they know about the drainage issue.

How hard is it to change out the battery? I've never done it before so not sure if it's a simple replace or more to it than that. Could I go out and buy a new battery at AutoZone and then take it to the dealer to put in?

2. Key is in the ON position.
What do you mean by "ON"?
Is the key in position 1-accessory, or position 2-run?

You should be able to use "accessory" for an hour or more, whereas "run" will drain the battery quickly.

^ Good point Samdog. Which goes back to my first post about the drive-in movie theatre. I had my key in the "accessory" position and had it that way for a good 45-60 minutes to watch the movie with no problem starting.
