Backup sensor problem

I have been using the backup sensor installed by the dealer authorized mechanic shop for 4 years without a problem. But, recently, I notice that it beeps whenever I change to reverse gear. I tried wiping clean those sensors, but the problem does not go away. The sensors are still working, I mean it beeps faster and shows shorter distance on the display when I am backing up to a wall. It is just annoying that it beeps even there is nothing at the back.

Does anyone know what problem is it?

Wow you got gremlins at work on the back of your car wheels and this. I say something was unplugged somewhere or a short circuit in the sensor or even the bumper might have received a impact while you were absent from the RDX.

Because of "Sixteen year old drivers" slamming into your car, Im making a guess, but anyway this may or may not be the case. I saw that you have an appointment, mention that this is happening and surely they will look into it.

You could look to see if the sensors are positioned correctly" if it is possible to eyeball it" under those covers. Could it also be dangling or pointed at the ground?

Other than that, I'd blame gremlins.

Hope someone else dealt with this as well, and it is not a impact as I mentioned.

I just got the backup sensors installed on my 08 RDX. When I first select reverse, it does a long beep. I think this is just to let you know the sensors are active.

I want to get them but I have some questions. does it show you the proximity on the heads up display? and if you dont want to use them can you turn off the system by pressing that switch under the rear surround sound speaker?

No, the sensors do not show up on the MID (under the speedo). I know in newer Hondas where the sensors come from the factory, they are integrated into the MID.

Yes, you can turn off the system by pushing the button under the rear surround speaker.
