another XM "no signal"

I'm going to pull the kick plate tomarow to check the antenna connection. Figures the only thing I did not check before I bought this thing. Do the antennas go bad? I used to have a external mag antenna and it worked great. Are there any other things to check besides the antenna connection? How hard is it to detach it from the roof? Thanks

Chris

I need to figure out howto pop the antenna off safely to check the xm connection on the back and front.
